Mon, 25 October 2004 03:19 did all the bits come out of the sump or are the top two for reference? if they all came out, then the crank has been doing some serious walking, and after the mangled bits were spat out, the top ones just fell out... i'm not familiar with the 1J crank, but on the K cranks, you can replace the thrust washers by removing a single bearing cap (the middle one iirc) at the minimum you would want to inspect the bearings and any bits at front and back of crank that could have made contact with the extra end float.... scary!! definitely a good thing to find them before the nasty noises start [Report message to a moderator]
