I think my dad went to a toyota parts dealer to get them, not a toyota dealership because they don't have anything really earlier than 85. As this is a normal thing that goes wrong with them they are fairly easy to pick up. I also heard that the head cracking isn't that un common. I did mine the other weekend. But I think if they are looked after then you shouldn't have any problems. Mine is only an 18R-C and the head is the only thing that's gone wrong with the engine appart from the timing chains stretching. One car I recently bought had the engine rebuilt for about $800 so I imagine yours would be a lot more than that. But if it doesn't make weird noises or puts out a lot of smoke then I'd leave it alone. [Report message to a moderator]
