You mean helical LSD. Sometimes known as a TorSen (torque sensing) diff. It's basically a little barrel full of helical gears which work in some way I don't understand to produce an LSD effect, as opposed to your conventional clutch-type LSD which is a normal spider-gear arrangement with a clutch pack in the middle.
