I believe unichip make a piggyback that that gets a gen 1 close to 117kw, Programmable ecu is always going to be the best performance upgrade on anything, but then of course youd have to factor in tuning and what not.
The problem with putting on the newer intake manifold is youd need to run the gen 2 wiring & ecu as well. this then becomes a significantly greater task if you plan to do the work yourself.
I would suggest a decent CAI setup and a set of extractors would be your best bet, a programmable ecu only if you have bigger plans for the car.
