The 2T engine with headers will not be too much power for the original diff. But if you weld it up, it won't last forever. You will eventualy snap an axle, or break the weld if its not very good. But don't let me put you off, driving with a locked diff is great. It will last for a bit.

A good thing to do is buy a LSD, to suit a early Jap AE86. The center will be about $650 from a importer. Its alot of money, but worth it because you get the same sort of thing as having a locker, but not likely to snap axles, or disturb people in the car park.

For the cam, I would go as wild as they make. You only live once.

Hilux diff is strong, but only realy needed for turbo power.
