also, make sure you have your cam timing set in reference to TDC COMPRESSION stroke....
On the stock cams, there is actually a little notch up the front of the shaft which denotes TDC compression, have these notches on both cams pointing straight up, and then put on the cam gears so that the notches on the cam gears line up with the lines on the timing cover back plate.
Now line up the crankshaft to TDC, there are notches on both the timing gear drive and the crank pullet.
Install belt, and make sure you have enough tension that after a few revolutions (i do about 6) everything is still lined up at TDC compression.
Easy peasy. I dont understand why people get confused doing this....
