Wouldn't it have been possible (and maybe easier?) to remove the silly bush that the shock has stock, and using some urethane to manufacture a new lower bush so that you can use the stock mount? Or another option would be to grind off the excess of the tube that goes through the bush so that youy could fit it in the stock position?
Also is that the same way they are mounted in commodores? With the lower bush and bolt 90 degrees to the center line of the car? (just thinking about it being rotated 90 degrees from where you have mounted it....).
As it is wont the bush be forced to cope with a lot of needless stress? Every time the car goes over uneven ground the bush will be forced to distend, if it was at 90 degrees to where it is now (similar to the factory ae86 orientation) wouldn't it be under much less stress?
Good looking work tho, great to see ppl doing things that require a bit of work for a change!
