Tue, 02 November 2004 01:09 W55, 57 and 58 gearboxes are rated at 200 - 250 flywheel horsepower, so they will be fine behind a std 1G-GTE. You will find W57's in RA60's, W55's in SA63's and (low strength) W58's in RA65's. I'm running the W57 from a RA60 behind my 1G-GZE in my RA23. You will need a G series bellhousing, and in mine at least, a "G" was stamped on it at the gearbox end if memory serves. Ask the seller to tell you the stamping on the bellhousing before he chucks it on the pallet. Otherwise you will get an R series bellhousing and that does not mate up to the 1G series engines. Going rate for a G series bellhousing is $100 and upwards as they are a rare beast. Good luck with it all. Cheers, Mitch. [Report message to a moderator]
