J-AE86: I paid $550 trade for something new and with a warranty, so its either that or $400 from that wrecker. BTW which wrecker would sell them?

wilbo666: Yes I have thought about what you have sujested however in this design it comes moulded with a 60mm rod through it as part of the bush. Now I could easy push these out in a press but that would void my warranty. Unlike the pre-IRS Holdens the bush isnt easy removable.
As for the stress I have thought about it and I think it would be indifferent as to which direction the bottom faces. In theory your very right it would be better to have them at 90 degrees, however in practice I think the change in angle through the movement of the suspension is so small that its irrelevant. The bushes came painted over when I got them and the paint has barely started to crack off, so it cant be worked too hard. I think the fact that I carefully angled the mounts is the biggest factor there. Also if I am not mistaken Holden use it in the same way I do, but that doent count for much considering how crap the rest of the design is.
