Actually the homebrand oils are all supplied by fairly large and respectable oil companies (e.g. Castrol, Caltex, Mobil etc.) but are just their bottom of the range mineral oils rebranded.
Although I would only consider using mineral oil in my lawnmower / commodore / X series falcon... i.e. basically any wide tolerance low tech engine.
