if you cracked the head you would probably know by now, take your car for a trhash up the freeway and see if it overheats, if it does then check your oil for milkyness.
Thats all i can offer sorry 
Also as if you didnt know the soarer had an alloy head, how many japanese motors do you know of post 85 that dont have alloyheads?
