I thought I would be smart and get an A70 in good condition and do a conversion. However, finding a JZA70 for sale in Melb was pretty hard. 4 I saw were in WA or NSW.
If I could go back, I would have prolly just paid a couple thousand more and got an immac MA70. You just have to add the cost of car + half cut + labour + parts + etc and you could prolly just save a bit more and get an MK4 (dont know how much they go for atm).
Firstly, its hard enough to find a good manual half cut. Took me 2.5 years to get a half cut at the right time. One time I had to turn one down because it would have arrived just after my rego and insurance and 2 weeks before xmas. Then parts are a bit of a biatch to source.
If I could go back and got an immac MA70...instead of spending $7000 or so on this conversion, that $7000 could have went to modding a 7M (just check out all the parts that u can get for a 7M) or whatever.
Anyway, unless u really want to, dont do a conversion. I dont regret it, but if I could go back, it would be different.
