oil pressure - dry filter Sat, 06 November 2004 20:18
Is there any way to know if my oil pump is kaputt ?

I took off the oil filter --- and there was nothing inside.

4ac - Toyota corolla - no pressure guage-- (dummy light only)
( I did not notice the light )

There was a 4age oil cooler attached , maybe that is clogged ?
( removed )

It is my understanding if the filter plugs, the oil will just bypass.

and my oil is UBER dirty and thick... UBER...
( mobil-1 15w50 synthetic ) that i just changed....maybe less than 500 k ago. --- if that .... )

Any ideas about what is going on here ? I'm concerned.
( did somebody put Bar's leak in my oil , any opinions on how much damage that stuff might to to a engine and the oil ports )
