If koni list the same part number for the AE86 and the RA40, I'd suggest they would fit hehe.

You mention that you wish to use corona struts, if that's the case then you should make sure that the AE86 shock is compatible with that strut (corona)! (it won't help you that if fits you old RA40 strut if you are using corona ones! Smile)

Also in regards to coil overs, yes you can keep you shock insert. Someone mentioned a place that sold a kit (consisting of the threaded sleeve, top hat and locking rings) for around $120 a side? (maybe it was cheaper charles, I remember that I didn't scoff at the price! and thats me Very Happy)
