Hi guys,

I read this article http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/portal/alias__carpo intau/tabID__6485/ArticleID__6615/DesktopDefault.a spx

and realised i'm having a few of those problems.

Its great when things like that are read.

I'm experencing the clicking noise at full lock when turning around a corner, i believe this is coming from the CV
joints, what exactly are these and how much should i be expecting to pay for this to be fixed? do they even need to be replaced or can you just grease them up again?

It means that the CV is on its last leg. When it starts to happen in reverse is when the CV is phucked. No, you can't re-grease it when it starts to click. The CV shaft is around the $200 mark from memory. But also figure in a deposit fee. I wouldn't have clue on how much a mechanic would charge.

Also i'm having trouble shifting from 3-2, crunching gears occasionally doing this,

Mis-timing the clutch and gear lever can do this. That is lifting off the clutch pedal as your still swinging the lever into the gear. But your synco's could also be worn. Does it happen on the up-shift 2-3? If so there's a good chance it will be the synco. These gearboxes have a weak 2-3 synco ring.

and also shrudding when taking off in first alot, whats causing this to happen?

A worn out clutch.

My clutch isn't engaging as well till the last moment, i'm guessing i need a new clutch.

If changing from 3-2 isn't smooth , would replacing the clutch solve the problem or should there be something
else that needs to be done?

Sometimes.

How much should i be looking at to have these fixed? I just don't want to be ripped off.

With gearbox/clutch. The best thing would in going around Gearbox specialists and get quotes. Do the same with mechanics as well you might even get a better deal. And give yourself a gift in the way of at least one car manual for the car. I've found that having two works out better. I've found that what one skips on the other one picks up on.

btw, check out my profile, it not much but that's what i do.
