I've been quoted for a rebuild of my head (read: head only), so I thought I'd run it by you guys and see what you all think.
ARP head stud kit: $220
Full vrs gasket kit: $262
Labour to remove/refit head + change head gasket only: $990
Options:
1-piece valves: $27.50 each
Valve spring set: $300
HKS 1.2mm metal head gasket: $145 US + shipping
Full head service (grind, de-burr, replace all gaskets + seals, etc): $600
In other words...
If I go for just the gasket change, I'm looking at a bit over a grand.
If I go for gasket change + head service, I'm looking at about 2 grand.
And if I want the full works done I'm looking at about 3 grand drive in & out.
