I had a look at this a while ago, and it seems like an interesting idea, but I think it will never work quite properly.

Firstly you also need to know engine speed, not just manifold pressure (8000rpm and 10psi of vacuum will need more fuel than 1000rpm and 10psi of vacuum). And also, I'd see it as only being a cheap bandaid fix. Given that AFR should be very tightly controlled you you can make good power, good emissions and avoid pinging I think this whole approach is just too dodgy.

You could possibly take RPM and MAP and use a lookup table to give an equivalent airflow meter output. That would be a lot of stuffing around and then why not just go with an aftermarket ECU?
