Sun, 27 October 2002 20:24 I had a bit of a run in with Centrelink when they sent me a bill for $3k. The first time I got YA when I was at TAFE i was declared independant because i told them I couldn't live at home (big argument with my old man) so I got the full amount regardless of dad's income (he earns too much by himself, mum doesn't work). Then I moved home after leaving uni, working, then going back to uni. Living at home I was then getting $180/fn or something, as well as money delivering pizzas, so life was good. I then left uni (again) and moved to perth (again). Starting the new semester this year I was on the full $290/fn until they requested details on dads income again. Suddenly the decided I didn't need to eat and even with rent assistance, after paying my rent I had $10/fn for food and bills, and the $3k bill. Apparently I need more money to live at home when I have a job then to live 200k's away without my parents. After some checking I realised that once you turn 21 you're better off (by $60-80 or something) to be listed as unemployed instead of being a student, and just dodge up the forms like all the dole bludgers do. I've known a few fulltime dole bludgers, and apparently they need more money to pay for their 253 holdens, hungry jacks and disposable nappies [Report message to a moderator]
