a lot of universal bonnet scoops have little metal tabs that a screw can be put from underneathe into the tab once holes are drilled through the bonnet to fix the scoop more securely than double sided tape.
if you are planning on cutting out the bonnet under the scoop to make it more functional (only the sheet metal not the underside bracing) you could use fibreglass to permantly bond the scoop to the bonnet. make sure you scuff the scoop and the paint thouroghly around the area you might fibreglass to ensure a good bond from the scoop to the bonnet. (this goes for the top side as well (if you wanna glass the seam to the top side of the bonnet, which i recomend).
