Celica ST 184 T/Gate Sopports

As the Title says, I'm after a pair of tail gate supports. I have been quoted $70 ea from toyota (secondhand). Does anyone here have a set of these. The problem I have with the Tailgate on the Celica is that when I pull the boot release, it sometimes doesn't "pop open". And when it does, I pull the boot open, but it catches on the lower lip of the rear window rubber. It seems as if gas support arms aren't pushing the boot away from the rubber seal of the back window. I have checked the hinges and adjusted them to give more clearance between boot and window. but it still doesn't help. The boot lid in the far corner got jammed on the rubber when trying to open the boot lid, and bent the corner a bit. HELP pLeAsE
