I would just like to highly recommend the Abbey AB200 (200w mosfet bass amp w/5 band graphic) and AQ12 (4x 12" quad).
Although my recommendation maybe considered biased since I work for Abbey Sound. My dad is teh boss, and used to be a long time bass player. We hire that combination out regularily, never had any complaints or issues.
If you choose something else, I repair guitar/power amps as part of my job, post up what you are after, I can provide information on build quality and reliability.
I would choose solid state (transistors) over valve, simply because of reliability and service. Valves are costly little buggers too, if you do choose valves, and they go crook, ask for russian ones, not chinese if its an option.
Meh, enough ramble for me...
Cheers,
James.
