Thu, 30 May 2002 13:05 The Sigma Turbo and the KB Laser Turbo both ran a Solex "pressurised" carby with their factory blow through setups. In my experience, with a good EFI fuel pump, these are suitable for up to about 20 psi. Hard to believe? I ran 23psi with factory internals in my Laser. It was thrashed every day for 18 months before the 10 year old motor died (of detonation). BUT fuel pump choice is critical... with the wrong pump and high boost, the motor will drain the carby bowl dry... It is certainly not the right way to do it though. It can be difficult to get the mixtures right throughout the rev range. One of these carby's might be fairly hard to find nowadays too... Go the EFI... It's much smarter.
