The choice of diff ratio is an important one but you cant even begin the ratio decision without first looking at tyre size.this can make as much effect on the final drive ratio as a diff change itself .

comparing a 3.9 and a 4.11 is a MINOR comparison and VERY LITTLE difference will be noitced .wihtout knowing the charactarisitics of the Engine first it is Impossible to say that for example 4.11 is better .at 5000 rpm there will only be a difference of 4 kph in second gear.(i believe that peak torque is around 4800 rpm)

Often turbo engine's respond well to load so a ratio such as 3.9 can be beneficial .however if acceleraton is the name of the game and having driven a 1ggte and felt the peaky power a 4.11 or 4.3 may be a clear choice .Depending on car weight and tyre size

Having said that all turbo cars love autos .the stall in an auto reduces lag and torque is ultilised more effeciently .An auto will be prove quicker ( as it does with 1jzgte) BUT a diff ratio
assuming say 215/50/16 tyres would be best around 3.7 i believe a 3.8 hiace LSD is available

EVEN with 4.11 gears my 1ggze auto was as quick as other manual 1ggze with same power .2nd gear was WAAAYYYYY to long and 3.77 is the factory diff ratio .The only thing that saved the ze was the instant blower power .
The auto was fitted with the 1ggte auto torque converter that had a 2000 rpm stall .MAUNALS feel quicker
