Sun, 28 November 2004 13:43 oh forgot to answer your question.... extremely easy to convert because of it's tiny size.... only trouble would be with the trans tunnel as the rotor gearboxes normally dont fit the early yota tunnels (ours needed customisation).... as for mounting, a 12a mounts the engine from the front, not the sides like conventional engines.... so basically, just bolt/weld in a square pipe crossmember where the engine will line up and bolt it onto that.... our 13 b conversion was done by swapping the timing cover at the front to a 12a spec (so it could be mounted from the face)... parts are interchangeable.... and if you're doing a rotor conversion, brakes and diffs need upgrading... so far, the diff has held out, but the front end has been converted to ford hubs (5 stud) and slotted disc with commodore calipers.... rear will be converted to hilux diff and will have disc brake conversion done also.... car goes harder than most cars ive come across in it, and pulls up quite nicely with the new brakes....
