Update - Bearing Cap Screwed Mon, 29 November 2004 12:57 Finally got around to pulling my sump off after having the engine out of the car for 2 weeks Bad news, the front end bearing cap has been chewed away on the face and also the block on the same face (where the front thrust washer rested against) if you understand what i mean. The crank is fine, obviously the cast cap and block metarial is alot weaker and failed saving the crank. So at a minimum ill have to remove everything for machining i.e. crank, rods, manifolds etc. have the block and cap built up and machined. How much do you reckon it will cost? i can do the dismantling myself. May it would be cheaper to just get another engine? I have been quoted an engine for $1200 (has something wrong with one of the aircon mounting threads or something ) How much should you pay for a 1JZ block and head, or just a block if you can get your hands on one? Perhaps a 2JZ block Throwing a few ideas around here guys, your advice is appreciated. [Report message to a moderator]
