FYI, a blacktop will idle at 800rpm with about 10 degrees of advance with the T pin grounded or not.
Shorting the T and E1 simply guarantees that any correction maps, should any be relevant, will not be factored.
It is possible for 2 maps to cancel each other out. (Base timing is 10 deg. Low rpm takes 2 deg off, low load adds 2 degs etc making the resultant advance still 10 deg BTDC)
BTW, the 101 ECU will be very unhappy until you connect the 02 sensor. I wouldnt bother tuning much until its connected.
