the numbers you see on tyres, eg (215/65/R14) refer to the size of the tyre. The first number is the width of the tyre, in mm. In the example it means the tyres is 215 mm wide, or 21.5 cm. The second value refers to the profile, or height of the tyre. To work it out, I think you need to multiply it by the width, eg 215*0.65 = 139.75 That's the height of the tyre from the edge of the rim in mm. The last number refers to the size of the wheel in inches, eg 14 means the tyre fits on a 14" wheel.

If you get larger wheels, you generally get a lower profile tyre, which means the rolling diamater should be around the same.

Wheels have different offsets, which are different for front and rear wheel drive cars. You also need to make sure you have the correct stud pattern.

Talk to an expert because putting the wrong wheels/tyres on the car can stuff up your handling, and that's more important than how good your car looks
