The TA's have a pointy nose on them, the bumper and parkers point out on an angle, where the RA23 has a flat front end. The grills are also different. The inside of an TA22 is more curvy than an RA23 and they have different consoles. Apparently the length on the RA23's are slightly longer (in the engine bay) This was so they could fit R series engines in them. The bonnets also have a hump in the middle of them to make room for the engine. Petrol tank's are also another factor, the early TA22's had a petrol tank in the floor of the boot but they changed this from about 74 onwards to a tank that sat upright against the back seat for safty reasons, and carried this into the RA23's.
