fade-e Forums Junkie Location: Sydney Registered: June 2004	Re: found 2x3tgte's at a wreckers | correction: 2x3sgte's | Sat, 04 December 2004 12:09 the easiest conversion would be an T series motor as it is almost drop in... but any rear wheel drive motor can go in with time and thought... the problem with the TA22s is that they are i believe 6" shorter than the TA23 onwards so with the 3sgte, 1ggte etc they are quite long for the engine bay... now they do fit in and no issues there but the problem lies with the radiator. they would need to be mounted in front of the radiator support rather than behind like stock. now thats not really an issue untill you come to put a front mount IC as there is nowhere for it to go, the oil cooler if used isnt an issue as they are relatively small and can be modified to fit so the real issue would be IC... you could possibly look into a long thin radiator say like the camry ones (thats been recommended to me a few times) but there is the issue that it would cover the headlights wiring but you can work around that... if you considered the camry radiator then the front mount can come back into the picture but there you would need to look at what type of fan you will use for the radiator cooling... at the end of the day it all comes down to the clearence distance between motor and shell and what you can fit in the clearence with the IC you could go top mount like WRXs but im not sure of what the clearence would be between engine cover and bonnet... as for the 4agze/gte, it is easy as all that is required are engine mount fabrication and the rest is pretty much like any other conversion [Report message to a moderator]
