rub the areas down that need to be painted with some 600 grit wet and dry sand paper (do it wet with water). wash the area clean with water and dry it.
once dry, clean the area with prepsol (wax and grease remover) make sure you use a clean rag to apply it and another clean dry rag to rub it off. (the prepsol will get rid of any waxes/silicones and sweat left by you). mask any areas up that you dont want paint on.
then spray your primer onto the car in light even strokes.
once the primer is on enough and dry, give the primer a light rub down with some 1000 grit wet and dry paper (with water again) do the same process with washing and the prepsol again.
then spray some top coat onto it (find a colour simular to yours).
do not leave just the primer on the car above bare metal as moisture will get through the primer and cause surface rust under the primer.
