styler Forums Junkie Location: brisbane Registered: October 2004	Re: help a n00b Thu, 09 December 2004 01:35 some cars might not? have a drain plug / hard to get to etc... its best to use the plug if you can but on most cars you can take off the lower radiator hose - slowly until it starts coming out and hold it there... so coolant doesnt splash over everything, do it on some grass. coolant mainly varies by gylcol content, just get a decent percent of it when u buy premix - mid priced name brand stuff, 33% is normal. you can buy concentrate and make your own mix, buy distilled water to mix it with and not tap water which has chemicals and impurities in it. you can also get a radiator flush mix to get all the crap out or buy cheap coolant and flush it through. empty out the overflow bottle too. i second hose to no where off the bottle is the overflow hose take off the radiator cap and the coolant will drain more easily. obviously only do this exersize when the car is cold and dont run the car without coolant [Updated on: Thu, 09 December 2004 01:47] [Report message to a moderator]
