if there are no faults, the engine light flashed continuously at about 0.5s intervals.
If there is an error, it will of course flash at intervals denoting codes.
ALL toyota circ opening relays i have seen are exactly the same, i grabbed about 5 last time i was in piccies. THey are usually attached to the ECU, just above the ECU, in either kick panel or somewhere else nearby.
On a 7MGE, i would check for IGt and IGf signals and wiring to make sure they are functional and connected.
Basically try to get your fault codes and work from there.
First clear the ECU memory by disconnecting battery for at least 30 seconds.
1: turn car to IGN. DO NOT START IT
2: short terminals TE1(aka T) and E1 on the diagnostic connector
3: check engine warning light to see that it is flashing, and thus ECU in diag mode.
4: take note of any codes that punch out.
Once you have fixed a fault be sure to clear ECU memory otherwise it will remember the fault and always spit the code.
