Carbies for 74 Celica

I just purchased a 1974 Celica and love it. A friend (toyota machanic) has just serviced it and fixed a couple of minor problems. However it has Twin 45mm Webber Carbies with a 2T GUE engine. i know nothing about engines as im 17 and its my first car, but apparently they are the wrong carbies for the engine. consequently fuel economy sucks and the occasional odd noise arises from the webbers. If anyone can help me with this dilema and maybe able to assist in finding some original carbies then theyre help will greatly be appreciated.
