Thu, 16 December 2004 05:28 My experience: I was in Canberra in January this year and picked up some. So if the laws have changed since then you can ignore this. They will take a photocopy of your license at the place you purchase the fireworks from. No license, no purchase. There was also a form we had to fill in and sign. It also states specifically in the terms of the ferry that you are not to take flammable or explosive items in your car. They now do a bonnet/boot check for gas bottles and presumably other explosive items. If I were you I'd hide them as well as you could (like under seats).
