Hi everyone. I just registered here and I just bought a 77 Celica RA29 and its in great condition, but the engine needs replacing. I don't know Celicas, but I do know T-18s (TE72).
What I'm saying is that its got a piston where its not supposed to be...coming out the side of the block.
Over here in the States we have a few different 22R type motors, but not the kind I have in my Celica.
I have a 21R-U and I was wondering if I could swap the 21R-U head with a regular American 22R block.
I was referred here for that specific question.
If the 21R-U head to 22R block doesn't work, would anyone have any other suggestions? Besides just throwing a whole 22R motor in it.
If I can't do much with the swap and costs a lot, I'd consider the whole 22R, but I was wanting to know the/some possibilities.
Thanks in advance.
Jtek.
