I have the same on my RA28, (or a VL's- the wreckers couldn't remember) it is noisy and there are very few legal and safe places to mount them on a RA28. The factory lines hardly supply enough fuel, and you don't want to go over speed bumps to fast with a low fuel in the tank. The appropriateness all depends on the car.
It does the job though, I am hoping to use an internal pump from a RA65 eventually (when I return to the real world).
