Just to fix up what people are saying, the gearbox he would be currently using is a K50! This gearbox can handle any of the K series engines and, although being a direct bolt on for an A series engines, can handle a 4ac, but the maximum would be an 88kw 4age and that would be pushing it a hell of a lot, a 4agze is complete overkill for this box and I'm surprised the thing hasn't already completely carked it...

I think you have your K50's very confused. No way you can attach a KE70 gearbox to an A series motor. K50's have an integral bellhousing, there is however an A series version of the K50 which came in JDM AE85's with the 3A motor (along with a couple of other different models in Japan). If a 4A-GZE is in there then it will have a T50 behind it which is a bolt in for the KE70 chassis.

amen to that..
k50 will not handle all K series motors.. well maybe stock ones 
better to use a T50 with the K series motors if you have doubts..
(and before anyone says.. there are _two_ bellhousings for this)
some people DO use T50's with GZE's.. it all depends on how much of a dickhead you are
if you do burnouts and dump clutch all the time of course the poor thing will break.. that same will happen to a W box..
if you drive 'properly' with 'respect for your drivetrain', you would be surprised how much each box can handle.
