Tue, 21 December 2004 23:04 My 4AGTE will light up the rear tyres (Dunlop FM901's 205/45R16) in the dry in 4th gear at 100 - 110 km/h when boost comes on. That is why I had to change to some stickier rubber on the back as it was a joke to try and get the power to the ground. Oh and if you don't believe me there are about 4 or 5 CCG members who have been in a car behind me that will verify this claim and many scared passengers. Note: FM901's are not real shit tyres either I say do the 3SGTE it will be a weapon, but a lot of work and a tight fit. The transmission tunnel needs some "massaging" too in order to fit the W series gearbox. I won't try and convince you into anything else but my KE25 with 4AGTE has plenty of power for the size of the car and it last made 170rwkw at a dyno day with a slipping clutch (the power curve shows this nicely and a few days after it gave up completely). Clutch is now replaced and gripping well. If you do the 3SGTE conversion and go to dyno days, make sure you have some mates to sit in the boot for you as every dyno day mine has been to it has needed 3 people to add wieght to the rear end to prevent it from spinnning on the rollers, yes they are a light car 4AGTE Vs 3SGTE in a KE25, both options have pros and cons, I would estimate though that final build cost for either would be about the same though. So go the 3SGTE and let us know how you go. Edit: of course you should also check what you can legally fit in your car in Victoria, my above comments are based on the ACT where we can still fit a 20B twin turbo to a KE25 and have it registered [Updated on: Tue, 21 December 2004 23:18] [Report message to a moderator]
