Unfortunately for you (but fortunately for us) we have an abundance of more performance oriented toyota motors over here, and the ability to perform all sorts of engine swaps.
Therefor the only thing most people here would be able to tell you about 21R-Us & 22Rs etc is how to pull them out & replace them with twin turbo sixes (1G-GTEs) and the like.

If there's anyway you can get your hands on a better engine, something with twin cams & multi valve & a turbo or two, chuck it in. You can usually get better results for less moolah.
