One more question...
As everything else was shut today, my mate picked up a PBR clutch for the SX from Repco (they only stock standard-not heavy duty). The price was very reasonable at $175 but he is wondering whether this is false econony.
He has used standard Daikin clutches in the past, but they haven't lasted (30,000 km max). And he has complained that he could really smell the clutch burning even on moderate hill starts.
Should he get the car checked out, or should he try a heavier duty clutch? If so, what pressure plate/disc combination would give a good durablity/driveablity compromise?
