it depends on what the T50 is from.
If the T50 is from an AE71 or AE86, then you should be OK using the front half of an AE71 tailshaft with the rear half of a TE72.
If the T50 is from a TE72, then you need to use the WHOLE TE72 tailshaft.
You can tell the difference as the AE71/AE86 T50 has more teeth on the OUPUT shaft of the box.
Dont forget to grab the handbrake cables as well 
TO be honest, i think what you are doing is a BAD idea, unless its not a permanent solution. I have been busting diffs and am slowly busting a T50 behind a stock 4A-GE (granted it gets lots of *love*).
I would personally be going for a W55/7/8 and a much stronger diff than a T series behind a 4A-GZE. The T series gear is just PISSWEAK in comparison! Its like using a FWD 4A-C g'box with your AE92 4A-GZE... .its just not up to the task!
