(no it's not what you think) Place the tissue over the area your working, and put your hand on the tissue, now rub around and feel all the imperfections and out of shape bits that you can't see! the tissue makes it silky smooth to rub around and feel the surface. You'll soon relize u need more bog/sanding coz it's never perfect the first time. I swear this is more accurate then looking with your eyes! give it a try and be amazed.
