SW20R Forums Junkie I supported Toymods Location: Sydney Registered: May 2002	Re: AE82 Engine Swap Tue, 05 November 2002 00:05 nope home jobbie the twin cam fuel tank comes with internal pump so it would be much easier. im still running the same 4ac fuel lines for the ge and its getting enough fuel.. even rich sometimes. the conversion from 4ac to 4age is pretty much straight forward. ge bolts on directly though if you have A/C on your 4ac.. you will need to remove the left fan as it's to close to the radiator piping. you'll need to get the front mount twin cam fan which includes a bracket for the oil cooler. wiring the efi is easy. the engine loom runs through the same hole to the interior. the fuel tank will have the line for power. only the inside passenger to driver fusebox wiring needs to be changed to accomodate the efi/ecu. just rip out the interior and swap the loom over. here's a link to strutto's site which shows detailed pics of his 4ac to 4age 100kw conversion. http://home.iprimus.com.au/struttona/index.htm I was qouted by a known workshop about 2k for labour + plus. 4 weeks and it will be done. We did it in about two weekends (got the motor in and out in one day. wiring and hoses another day. then running back and forth for missin components). Saved 2k and got the first experience. Here was my shopping list for the ge - Motor w/ gearbox, ecu, engine loom, stutbrace w/ map - $850 2" mandrel bend exhaust system 2nd hand - $50 ae82 fueltank + lines - $250 ae82 twin cam dash - $100 ae82 twin cam startmotor - $40 ae82 p2d fusebox wiring loom - $50 el cheapo pod filter - $50 Total - $1390 for bare essentials to let you drive around.
