I have an AE-71 wagon that I keep on snapping diffs in, once I thought the pannel van ones were tougher so I tried one of them, to make it fit I re-adjusted the center mount out a bit, with the factory adjustment and I also had the flange on the diff modified a bit. The holes are 1mm further away in one direction only and I also had to take step off it. What you could do is fit an ae-71 wagon diff in instead, which is a little better. The hilux option is so bloody heavy and hard, I think swapping the mounts on something like a T-18 diff might be better.
and no it that diff didnt last long in my car (8000km!!!)
