MIKGTR Occasional Poster Registered: October 2004	Re: !HELP! crossed snaped bolt in block Tue, 04 January 2005 22:43 The most important thing with getting any bolt that is stuck, cross threaded or broken is HEAT!! Especially when using ezy outs you must heat up the block. Preferably use an oxy set but if you dont have one even a electric heater will help. And another 2 cents worth on easy outs... Ezy outs work well in some applications and not in others If he hammered the spanner around until the bolt broke half way in, as in the head of the bolt had not made contact with the surface there is about a one in million chance an ezy out will work. But there is a really good chance you will end up with an ezy out broken off in the bolt then you've got a real problem! If you haven't done it before take it along to a machine shop/engine reco shop, these blokes do it all the time and charge bugger all to do it ($20 - $50) [Report message to a moderator]
