If your Cams have been set so peak power is at 6400RPM then that is most likely there optimal setting. You don't want your car to be a dowey shitbox at low RPM unless it actually has BIG cams and will generate a large amount of mid range and high rpm. The biggest number on a Dyno graph, doesn't equal the fastest car on the street.
The T series bottom end should have no trouble at all with regular 7500RPM shifts and even the odd buzz to the 8000rpm should be fine assuming you use a good quality oil with regular changes.
