There are two different T700 Boxes...
The first is the 4L60
The second is the 4L60E
The 4L60 was used from the VN through to the VP and VQ, at which point it was replaced via the 4L60E...
The difference in the two boxes... One runs the kickdown and vacuum cables, the latter is electronic controlled...
Your mate has the 4L60 box, (Vacuum controlled)
A much better box... Takes the power better when swapping diffs because it avoids having to have the ECU shift points remapped...
Unfortunately I can't tell you where to hook the vacuum line to... BUT
Try out http://www.streetcommodores.com.auVery helpful bunch when it comes to Commodores...
