That said I wouldnt be too hung up on the exact temp. Most sensors that you would use to read it arent too accurate anyway. What you do want to do is keep it as low as you can. Above 100 or so inlet you will start having detonation problems. If the car is NA you might want to consider a cold air intake with a seperate airflow to the engine bay. Force induction? get a bigger/more efficient intercooler, a water spray or water injection. Depending on how you tune it a small nos kit (about 25hp) can do a lot for reducing inlet temp as well.
