As for taking the power better, remapping the ECU for shift points/line pressure will give a nicer result than anything. Just a matter of having to DO it, which is something most never bother with, when they bitch about 'damned electronic' autos. Also, the 4L80E is the big brother box from some US cars/trucks, much tougher.

The 4L60E also had a couple of internals changed when it went electronic from auto, and it became useless for continously down shifting with the stick (Driving the auto like a manual) and they end up shitting themselves...
My mate has had 2 boxes rebuilt now (in 12months) and both been done at different places, and both told him it was because he drove it like a manual... So now he has stopped driving it like a manual...
But yeah, it throws something into one of the clutches and destroys em... Not good...
