Actually, I'm in Newcastle, so I guess it was a bit far anyway. The $2300 full retail is for a 2nd hand unreconditioned motor I guess. My bill ended up running.

Remove head and diagnose problem - $ 420.00
New reconditioned motor installed - $4020.00
Water pump, new hoses, fan belts, filters and spark plugs - $ 800.00
----------
Total $5240.00

Frightening isn't it.

I've also spent over $300 on the power steering and $125.00 on the automatic just before this happened. All up about $5650.00. Hopefully nothing else will go wrong!


5650 and at the end of the day you still have a stock 7m-ge... hmm
